As the proud founders of Good Bones K9 Training, we extend a warm welcome and our heartfelt gratitude for entrusting us with your beloved canine companions. We believe in transparency and open communication, which is why we've crafted this Terms of Service page to outline the terms and conditions that govern our mutual commitment to your dog's training journey. Our mission is to provide exceptional service, and your understanding and cooperation play a crucial role in achieving positive and lasting results. Thank you for choosing Good Bones K9.
Payment Terms:
Deposit Requirement:
A non-refundable deposit ($150 for program spots, $500 for Board & Train) secures the spot, applied toward the total program cost.
Full Payment:
Total program payment is due by the last session or as per any agreed alternative plan.
Accepted Payment Methods:
We accept cash, Debit/Credit Card, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App. Payments should be made to Good Bones K9.
Payment Plans (if applicable):
Client-requested payment plans must be arranged and agreed upon in advance.
Late Payments:
Late payments may lead to a suspension of services. Additional fees may apply.
Refund Policy:
All deposits are non-refundable. Training service refunds are case-dependent, in line with our Refund Policy.
Fee Adjustments:
Changes to training scope or duration at the client's request may lead to fee adjustments.
Third-Party Services:
Client-incurred costs for third-party services or materials (e.g., specialized equipment) are their responsibility.
Returned Payments:
Clients are responsible for any fees related to returned or declined payments.
Outstanding Balances:
Outstanding balances must be settled for continued services.
Receipts:
Clients receive receipts for payments made, important for record-keeping.
Currency:
All payments must be in US dollars.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation Notice:
Clients must provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of a training session.
Board & Train Programs:
For clients enrolled in our Board & Train program, cancellations must be made at least 21 days in advance of the scheduled drop-off date to receive a full refund, excluding the non-refundable deposit.
Late Cancellations:
Cancellations made within the 24-hour notice of a training session will be subject to a fee of 50% of the session cost.
No-Show Policy:
If a client fails to show up for a scheduled session without providing prior notice, the full session fee will be charged.
Emergency Situations:
In case of a genuine emergency preventing a client from attending a scheduled session, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss alternative arrangements.
Refund Processing:
Refunds for eligible cancellations will be processed within 14 days from the date of cancellation.
Rescheduling:
Clients may reschedule a session without incurring any additional charges, provided that the rescheduled session occurs within 3 days of the original appointment.
Exceptions:
Good Bones K9 reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration exceptional circumstances.
Payment Terms:
Deposit Requirement:
To secure a spot in our training programs, a non-refundable deposit of $150 is required. For Board & Train programs, a non-refundable deposit of $500 is necessary. This deposit is applied towards the total program cost.
Full Payment:
Full payment for the selected training program is due by the end of the last session, unless an alternative payment plan has been arranged and agreed upon in advance.
Accepted Payment Methods:
We accept the following forms of payment: cash, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, and Cash App. Payments should be made to Good Bones K9.
Payment Plans (if applicable):
Clients may request a payment plan for their selected training program. These plans must be arranged and agreed upon in advance with Good Bones K9.
Late Payments:
Late payments may result in a suspension of training services until payment is received in full. Additional fees or penalties may apply for late payments.
Refund Policy:
All deposits are non-refundable. Refunds for training services will be considered on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with our Refund Policy.
Fee Adjustments:
Any changes to the scope or duration of training services at the request of the client may result in adjustments to the total fees for the program.
Third-Party Services:
If third-party services or materials are required for training (e.g., specialized equipment), clients are responsible for covering the associated costs.
Returned Payments:
Clients will be responsible for any fees associated with returned or declined payments.
Outstanding Balances:
Clients with outstanding balances will not be eligible to receive any additional services until all payments are brought up to date.
Receipts:
Clients will receive a receipt for all payments made. It is important to retain these receipts for your records.
Currency:
All payments must be made in US dollars.
Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement:
Assumption of Risks:
Participation in dog training inherently involves risks. While we prioritize safety, dogs may not always be predictable. Clients acknowledge and assume all associated risks.
Release of Liability:
Clients hereby release and discharge Good Bones K9, including its contractors, employees, owners, and agents, from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action related to participation in our training programs.
Hold Harmless Agreement:
Clients agree to hold Good Bones K9 harmless from any liability, loss, damage, or expense, including legal fees, resulting from participation in our training programs.
Injury or Damage Caused by Dogs:
Clients accept full responsibility for any injury or damage caused by their dog(s) during training sessions or while on the premises of Good Bones K9.
Veterinary/Medical Expenses:
Clients agree to cover any veterinary or medical expenses resulting from injuries caused by their dog(s) during training.
Use of Pictures and Videos:
Good Bones K9 may use pictures and/or videos of clients or their dogs for promotional or publicity purposes on various platforms. No information/pictures will be sold or shared without additional consent.
No Guarantees of Training Results:
While we assure 100% control of dogs, clients acknowledge that there is no guarantee their dog will achieve the desired level of training or be completely cured of behavior issues.
Money Back Guarantee (if applicable):
For private lessons, a money-back guarantee is offered if clients are not completely satisfied after the 1st lesson on the 1st day. Refer to our website for additional information on our guarantee.
Declaration of Legal Age:
Clients declare they are of legal age and competent to sign this agreement. They understand and agree to be bound by its terms.
Health and Safety Requirements:
Dog Vaccinations and Health Records:
Clients must provide up-to-date vaccination records and relevant health history for their dog(s) before enrolling in any training program. This includes vaccinations for rabies, distemper, and other recommended vaccinations by a licensed veterinarian.
Dog Health and Well-being:
Dogs must be in good health, free from contagious diseases, and show no signs of illness or distress. Clients are required to promptly notify Good Bones K9 if their dog displays any signs of illness.
Aggressive or Dangerous Behavior:
For the safety of all participants, dogs exhibiting aggressive or dangerous behavior may be evaluated for private training options as they may not be suitable for group classes.
Leash and Containment Requirements:
Dogs must be leashed or kept in a secure designated area at all times when not actively participating in training exercises, including arrival and departure times.
Dog Training Equipment:
Clients are responsible for providing and using appropriate training equipment such as leashes, collars, harnesses, and any specialized training tools recommended by Good Bones.
Training Environment Cleanliness:
Both clients and trainers share the responsibility of maintaining a clean and sanitary training environment. Waste disposal facilities are provided on-site for client use.
First Aid and Emergency Procedures:
Trainers are equipped with basic first aid supplies, and emergency procedures are in place for both human and canine emergencies.
Client Conduct and Safety:
Clients are expected to adhere to trainers' instructions and guidelines for their own safety and that of others. This includes handling dogs in a manner that minimizes risk.
Reporting Incidents:
Clients are encouraged to promptly report any incidents, accidents, or concerns related to health and safety to Good Bones K9 staff.
Compliance with Local Laws:
Clients are expected to comply with all local laws and regulations pertaining to dog ownership, licensing, and leash requirements.
Emergency Procedures:
Emergency Contact Information:
Good Bones K9 maintains readily accessible emergency contact numbers for local veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, and relevant authorities.
First Aid Kits:
Each trainer is equipped with a well-stocked first aid kit and is trained in basic first aid procedures for both humans and dogs.
Human Medical Emergencies:
In the event of a medical emergency involving a client or staff member, the designated first aider will administer first aid and, if necessary, call for emergency medical services (911).
Canine Medical Emergencies:
Trainers will take immediate action to stabilize a dog's condition in the event of a medical emergency. The dog will then be transported to the nearest veterinary clinic or animal hospital.
Lost or Escaped Dogs:
If a dog goes missing or escapes, trainers will initiate a search and immediately notify the owner. Local animal control and relevant authorities will be contacted if necessary.
Fire or Natural Disasters:
In the event of a fire or natural disaster, trainers will evacuate all clients and dogs to a designated safe area. Emergency services will be contacted as needed.
Dangerous Wildlife Encounters:
In the case of encounters with dangerous wildlife, such as snakes or large predators, trainers will take precautions to ensure the safety of clients and dogs. Relevant authorities will be contacted for assistance if necessary.
Reporting and Documentation:
All incidents and emergencies will be documented in an incident report, including incident details, actions taken, and any necessary follow-up.
Client Notification:
In the event of a significant emergency, clients will be promptly notified of the situation and provided with updates as appropriate.
Review and Training:
Good Bones K9 conducts regular reviews and updates of its emergency procedures. All staff members are thoroughly trained in these procedures during their onboarding process.
Training Methods and Techniques:
Positive Reinforcement:
We prioritize positive reinforcement techniques, utilizing rewards like treats, praise, toys, and other positive stimuli to encourage desired behaviors.
Science-Based Approach:
Our methods are rooted in scientifically-proven principles of animal behavior and learning. This evidence-based approach ensures optimal outcomes for dogs and their owners.
Force-Free Techniques:
We strictly avoid aversive training methods or physical punishment, aiming to create a positive, stress-free learning environment for dogs.
Individualized Training Plans:
Recognizing each dog's uniqueness, our trainers craft personalized training plans that cater to their specific needs, personality, and learning style.

Good Bones K9 adheres to the techniques and standards endorsed by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

Client Education:

Client Responsibilities:
Active Participation:
Clients are vital participants in the training process, actively engaging in sessions, following trainer instructions, and practicing recommended techniques consistently.
Consistency in Training:
Maintaining uniformity in training methods and reinforcement is pivotal for the dog's progress. Clients are encouraged to sustain regular routines and practices at home.
Timeliness:
Punctuality is crucial for maximizing the effectiveness of each session. Clients are expected to arrive on time for scheduled training sessions.
Open Communication:
Clients should openly communicate any concerns, questions, or updates regarding their dog's progress or behavior. This includes promptly notifying trainers of any changes in the dog's health or behavior.
Managing Dog's Health:
Clients are responsible for ensuring their dog is in good health and up-to-date on vaccinations. Any medical conditions or changes in health should be disclosed to the trainer.
Providing Necessary Equipment:
Clients should supply any essential training equipment recommended by the trainer, such as leashes, collars, harnesses, or specific training aids.
Ensuring a Safe Environment:
Clients must establish a secure and controlled environment during training sessions to ensure the safety of both the trainer and the dog. This includes removing potential hazards.
Implementing Training Techniques at Home:
Clients should apply and reinforce training techniques learned during sessions in their everyday interactions with their dog at home.
Addressing Behavioral Concerns:
Clients should promptly notify the trainer of any new behavioral concerns or if existing issues worsen, seeking guidance and support.
Acknowledgment of Risks:
Clients recognize that, despite best efforts, dog behavior can be unpredictable. They assume any associated risks and agree to hold [Business Name] and its trainers harmless from any claims.
Commitment to Ethical Treatment:

Clients wishing to opt out of media participation should inform Good Bones K9 in writing. Reasonable efforts will be made to exclude them from media coverage.
Third-Party Use:
Good Bones K9 will not sell or share media content featuring clients or their dogs with third parties for commercial purposes without additional consent.
Child Protection:
If minors (individuals under the age of 18) are present during training sessions, explicit consent from a parent or legal guardian is required for their participation in media coverage.
Removal of Media Content:
Clients may request the removal of specific media content featuring them or their dogs at any time. Good Bones K9 will make reasonable efforts to comply with such requests.
Professional Use Only:
Media content featuring clients and their dogs will only be used in a professional and respectful manner, aligning with the values and standards of Good Bones K9.
No Compensation:
Clients understand and agree that they will not receive compensation or royalties for the use of media content featuring them or their dogs.

Equipment and Tools Policy:

Equipment Maintenance:
Clients are responsible for the appropriate care and upkeep of any equipment supplied by Good Bones K9. This encompasses keeping it clean, in good condition, and promptly informing the trainer of any issues.
Client-Provided Equipment:
Clients have the option to use their own equipment during training sessions. The trainer will assess its suitability and verify it aligns with the training objectives.
No Aversive Tools:
Good Bones K9 unequivocally prohibits the use of aversive tools like shock collars, choke chains, or similar equipment known to cause distress or harm to dogs.
Equipment Safety:
Ensuring the safety of both dogs and trainers is paramount. Clients should verify that the equipment used is secure and appropriately fitted to the dog to prevent any harm or discomfort.
Liability for Damages:
Clients may be held accountable for replacing or repairing any equipment provided by Good Bones K9 that is damaged due to misuse or negligence.
Return of Provided Equipment:
Upon conclusion of training sessions or programs, any provided equipment must be returned to the trainer in good condition. Failure to do so may result in replacement fees.
Client-Owned Tools:
If clients opt to procure their own training tools or aids, Good Bones K9 can offer recommendations and guidance on suitable options.
Trainer Recommendations:
Trainers will offer advice on appropriate equipment and tools based on the individual needs of the dog and training goals.
Aggressive or Dangerous Dogs Policy:
Definition:
An aggressive or dangerous dog is one that displays behaviors like growling, lunging, snapping, or biting, and poses a risk to the safety of humans or other dogs.
Initial Assessment:
Clients must disclose any aggressive or dangerous behaviors exhibited by their dog upon enrollment. This information is crucial for determining the appropriate training approach.
Specialized Training Plans:
Dogs displaying aggressive or dangerous behaviors may require customized training plans. These plans will be tailored to address and modify specific behaviors, prioritizing safety.
Muzzle and Restraint Requirement:
For the safety of all participants, aggressive or dangerous dogs may be required to wear a properly fitted muzzle or use other restraints as recommended by the trainer.
Isolation from Other Dogs:
During group training sessions, aggressive or dangerous dogs will be separated from other dogs to prevent potential conflicts.
One-on-One Supervision:
Aggressive or dangerous dogs may receive one-on-one supervision from our trainers to ensure close monitoring and safety during training sessions.
Client Education:
Owners of aggressive or dangerous dogs will be provided with additional resources, training techniques, and behavior management strategies to support their dog's progress.
Liability Waiver:
Clients with aggressive or dangerous dogs will be required to sign a separate waiver acknowledging the risks associated with training such dogs.
Termination of Services:
In rare cases where a dog's behavior poses an unreasonable risk to the safety of others, we reserve the right to terminate services for the safety of all participants.
Referral to Specialists:
In extreme cases, we may recommend seeking the assistance of a specialized canine behaviorist or veterinarian behaviorist for further evaluation and intervention.
Termination of Services Policy:
Client-Requested Termination:
Clients have the right to request termination of services at any time. Requests should be made in writing and communicated directly to the trainer.
Termination by Good Bones K9:
Good Bones K9 reserves the right to terminate services if it is determined that continued training is not in the best interest of the dog or the safety of individuals involved.
Non-Compliance with Policies:
Failure to adhere to Good Bones K9's policies, including but not limited to safety, equipment usage, and client responsibilities, may result in termination of services.
Failure to Pay Fees:
If clients fail to make payments for services rendered, Good Bones K9 may suspend or terminate training until payment is received in full.
Dangerous or Aggressive Behavior:
If a dog displays dangerous or aggressive behavior that poses a risk to trainers, clients, or other dogs, services may be terminated for the safety of all parties involved.
Incompatibility or Unreasonable Expectations:
In some cases, there may be a mismatch in expectations or training goals. If Good Bones K9 determines that it is not possible to meet the client's expectations, services may be terminated.
Refund Considerations:
Depending on the circumstances leading to termination, clients may be eligible for a partial refund for unused sessions, at the discretion of Good Bones K9.
Return of Equipment:
If Good Bones K9 provided any equipment during the course of training, it must be returned in good condition at the time of termination.
Client Responsibility After Termination:
Upon termination of services, clients are responsible for the continued care and training of their dog. Good Bones K9 may offer recommendations or referrals for alternative resources.
Notice of Termination:
In cases where Good Bones K9 initiates the termination of services, clients will be provided with written notice, along with an explanation of the reasons for termination.
Local Laws and Regulations Policy:
Dog Licensing and Vaccinations:
Clients are responsible for ensuring their dogs are properly licensed and have up-to-date vaccinations as mandated by local authorities.
Leash Laws:
Clients must adhere to local leash laws and regulations in public spaces. Dogs should be suitably restrained, except in designated off-leash areas.
Noise Ordinances:
Clients are expected to comply with local noise ordinances, particularly in residential areas, to ensure their dog's behavior is within acceptable limits.
Waste Disposal:
Clients are required to promptly clean up after their dogs in public areas, disposing of waste in designated receptacles as stipulated by local regulations.
Training and Behavior Requirements:
Clients should familiarize themselves with any specific training or behavior standards established by local authorities, ensuring their dog meets these expectations.
Reporting Incidents:
Clients must promptly report any incidents or accidents related to their dog's behavior that may potentially violate local laws or regulations.
Breed-Specific Legislation:
Clients are obligated to be aware of and adhere to any breed-specific legislation (BSL) applicable in their local area, which may include restrictions on specific breeds.
Facility Permits (if applicable):
In the event that Good Bones operates a physical facility for training sessions, we commit to obtaining and maintaining any necessary permits or licenses as required by local authorities.
Client Education:
Good Bones K9 will provide clients with information and resources concerning local laws and regulations relevant to dog ownership and behavior.
Liability Disclaimer:
Good Bones K9 and its trainers are not accountable for any fines, penalties, or legal consequences resulting from clients' failure to comply with local laws and regulations.
Grievance and Dispute Resolution Policy:
Reporting a Grievance:
Clients with concerns or grievances regarding our services are encouraged to promptly communicate their issues. Grievances can be submitted in writing via email or letter addressed to Good Bones K9.
Handling of Grievances:
Upon receiving a grievance, Good Bones K9 will acknowledge receipt within 48 hours. The grievance will be reviewed and thoroughly investigated.
Confidentiality:
All information related to a grievance will be treated with confidentiality to the extent permitted by law. Information will be shared only with those directly involved in the resolution process.
Mediation and Resolution:

All steps taken in the grievance and dispute resolution process will be documented for reference and transparency. This includes the nature of the grievance, actions taken, and any agreements reached.
Timeframe for Resolution:
Good Bones K9 is committed to seeking a resolution within 30 days of receiving the initial grievance.
Client Satisfaction:
Good Bones K9 aims to ensure that clients are content with the resolution process and the outcome. Feedback regarding the resolution process is welcomed.
Legal Recourse:
If a resolution cannot be reached through the above steps, clients have the right to pursue legal avenues as permitted by applicable laws.

In unique cases, clients may request a return to a previous version of a policy. Such requests will be assessed on an individual basis.
